We are hiring an HR Generalist who enjoys being hands‑on and making HR processes work better for employees and leaders alike. In this role, you will play a key part in employee experience, benefits administration, and workers’ compensation while supporting our teams across our distribution and bakery locations. Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within distribution, manufacturing, or multi‑site environments.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in benefits administration, including audits and compliance reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of benefits requirements, including ERISA and compliance requirements, and practical knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience partnering with payroll teams and reconciling benefit-related payroll deductions.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships by demonstrated competence in customer service and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma required, Associate’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Human Resource Information Systems required; ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Professional HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and OSHA compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies, ensuring clear communication and compliance.
  • Lead employee benefit enrollment processes, including new hire eligibility, annual open enrollment, and life‑event changes, ensuring a seamless employee experience.
  • Audit benefit reports monthly to ensure alignment between payroll deductions, carrier invoices, and eligibility data; resolve discrepancies with urgency.
  • Prepare and audit ACA reporting (1094‑C and 1095‑C) and support compliance requirements.
  • Manage Distribution pre‑hire processes and driver onboarding, ensuring compliance with hiring, MVR, and documentation requirements across locations.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR policies, procedures, and conflict resolution.
  • Serve as the HR contact for workers’ compensation administration in partnership with the Safety and Risk Manager, supporting transition2work programs and the return-to-work process.
  • Make recommendations for process improvement and accurate workflow; create and update process documentation.
  • Review and maintain vacation and sick accrual balances for both non-exempt and exempt employees, researching, and correcting discrepancies.
