About The Position

Open systems database administrator supporting Microsoft SQL Server. DBA responsibilities focusing on support of DB infrastructure across Microsoft Windows, AWS, and Azure environments.

Requirements

4-year Computer Science Degree or equivalent work experience
2 years’ experience as a DBA with MS SQL Server including installation, configuration, maintenance, patching and upgrade of SQL instances
Significant hands-on experience with SQL Server 2016 and up
Logical and physical database design
Backup, recovery and housekeeping
Performance monitoring and tuning
Experience with Windows server management
Knowledge of clustering, mirroring, and replication in a SQL Server environment

Nice To Haves

Experience with in-depth performance monitoring toolsets
Familiarity with Service Now and database automation
Experience with Oracle, DB2, MySQL or other open system DBMS'

Responsibilities

The installation, configuration and maintenance of SQL Server DBMS environments
Proactive monitoring of all databases
Backup, recovery and housekeeping tasks
Incident, capacity and performance management for both production and development environments and databases
Disaster recovery
On-call rotation and out of hours working to support incidents and changes
