About The Position

We are seeking an IT Help Desk Technician I to join our team at BKF Engineers! This position is designed for those with a passion for technology and customer service. The IT Help Desk Technician will provide front-line support for all IT-related issues and support the organization’s technology infrastructure. NOTE: This is a temporary position, anticipated to last six months in duration.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
• 1-2 years of experience in an IT support or help desk role.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
• Familiarity with Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Availability to work in the office and assist during emergencies or after hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and in-person.
• Install, configure, and deploy computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
• Assist users with application issues, and guide them in utilizing software effectively.
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and ensure proper software licensing.
• Document, track, and manage support requests in the help desk ticketing system.
• Provide basic IT training to staff on new technologies.
• Collaborate with senior IT staff on the resolution of more complex issues.
• Assist with IT projects and initiatives as assigned.

Benefits

• The typical base salary range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00 per hour and may vary depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
• This is an hourly position paid bi-weekly.
• This is a temporary position with an anticipated duration of six months.
• Benefits will not be available for this position beyond those required in the state of California.
