About The Position

Summary of Position: The Network Administrator is responsible for the design, planning, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of all IT network infrastructure within the organization. In addition to the essential functions, the Network Administrator will also be required to assist the IT team in project-related work such as scoping and feasibility studies. This position may also be required to assist in basic helpdesk functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred; Experience in related fields may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • 3+ years experience in a network administration role required, healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience with configuring/deploying network devices such as switches, routers, Wi-Fi access points, etc.
  • Working knowledge of L2, L3, VLANs, VPN Tunneling, DNS, DHCP, VOIP, Aruba OS-CX, QoS, SDWAN, MAC filtering and network security best practices.
  • CompTIA Network + required

Nice To Haves

  • Aruba Certified Switching Associate or Professional preferred
  • Other network-related certifications will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Provides consistently exceptional care at all times.
  • Facilitates timely and effective communication to departmental and organizational leadership regarding the status of work requests, deliverables and issues.
  • Completes maintenance of network related Help Desk tickets.
  • Responds to requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Completes problem reporting and tracking, manages solutions through change management processes.
  • Assists with network efficiency including but not limited to phone systems, internet speeds, reliability, outage frequency etc.
  • Provides a central resource for all network related requests and projects.
  • Assists with system security and provides technical support as needed.
  • Performs scheduled and non-scheduled operational functions.
  • Tracks hardware equipment and assists with annual budgetary recommendations.
  • Demonstrates willingness to identify and/or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the department.
  • Demonstrates dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department and hospital.
  • Accepts assignment as preceptor for new staff.
  • Completes work assignments on time/readily accepts assignments.
  • Responds to the needs of the department by performing other duties, as necessary.
