About The Position

The IT Specialist supports technology systems across our convenience store chain, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient operations at both the store and corporate levels. This role provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support, assists with infrastructure maintenance, and supports technology rollouts and system improvements. The ideal candidate is solutions-oriented, service-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-location retail environment where system uptime is critical.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 2+ years of IT support experience, preferably in retail or multi-location environments
  • Experience supporting hardware, software, and network troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with POS systems and retail technology environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and perform equipment installations as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, etc.)
  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity practices and payment card industry (PCI) standards
  • Experience supporting multi-site network infrastructure

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for field and corporate users
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues including desktops, laptops, POS systems, payment terminals, printers, scanners, and handheld devices
  • Utilize remote support tools to diagnose and resolve issues for store locations
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and recurring issues within the ticketing system
  • Escalate complex issues to appropriate internal teams or vendors
  • Support point-of-sale (POS) systems and retail technology platforms
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software
  • Support network connectivity, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN environments
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for equipment repair and system support
  • Help maintain system security standards, including PCI compliance requirements
  • Participate in technology deployments and upgrades (e.g., POS rollouts, hardware refreshes, infrastructure improvements)
  • Assist with testing, implementation, and documentation of new systems
  • Identify trends in recurring technical issues and recommend process improvements
  • Support IT asset tracking and inventory management
  • Deliver professional and responsive service to store operators and corporate teams
  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Provide basic user guidance and training as needed
