About The Position

The IT Support Technician Intern provides hands-on technical support to employees in a professional corporate environment. This internship is designed for students or early-career individuals seeking practical experience in enterprise IT support, customer service, and desktop operations. The intern will gain real-world experience supporting Microsoft 365, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing IT tickets, and assisting users at the Tech Bar. This internship will offer mentorship from IT professionals, exposure to emerging technologies including AI-based tools, development in a corporate environment, and opportunities to transition into a level 1 or level 2 role. Location: Onsite in Gaithersburg, MD What You Will Learn: Enterprise PC imaging and deployment processes Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive) support VPN and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) troubleshooting Desktop and laptop hardware diagnostics Data storage and backup solutions (Druva and OneDrive) IT ticket management using ServiceNow Asset tracking and lifecycle management Professional face-to-face customer support skills

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field
  • US citizenship required
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Interest in learning enterprise IT support processes
  • Ability to work onsite in Gaithersburg, MD

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building or troubleshooting PCs
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (VPN, MFA)
  • Exposure to or coursework in Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, or emerging technologies
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., generative AI platforms, automation tools, scripting assistants)
  • Previous help desk, retail tech, or customer service experience
  • CompTIA A+ coursework or certification (in progress is acceptable)

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person technical support to employees
  • Assist with Tech Bar walk-up support
  • Support PC imaging, setup, and deployment
  • Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues
  • Assist with M365, VPN, and MFA support requests
  • Help manage tickets and update records in ServiceNow
  • Maintain accurate asset tracking information
  • Escalate complex issues to senior technicians when needed
