About The Position

The Jr. Database Analyst - BPI supports the Business Process Improvement team by gathering, validating, and organizing data; preparing reports and dashboards; and assisting with automation, workflow, and integration efforts that improve operational efficiency. This is an entry-level role intended for an early-career professional who can grow into broader analytical and automation responsibilities over time. The position works under the direction of management to translate business needs into accurate reporting, repeatable processes, and practical data-driven insights.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, data analytics, business analytics, or related business field.
  • Proficiency with Excel (focus on data handling)
  • Foundational knowledge of SQL or other query languages and basic understanding of relational data concepts.
  • Exposure to scripting, workflow automation, system integrations, or data processing concepts through work, internships, coursework, or academic projects.
  • Ability to validate output for formatting, logic, completeness, and consistency.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to follow standards and documented processes.
  • Ability to learn business processes, systems, and automation tools in a structured environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, data analytics, business analytics, or related business field.
  • Experience with JavaScript, JSON, and Python.
  • Experience with API integration techniques.
  • Exposure to workflow automation, scripting, low-code automation tools, or scheduled job processing.
  • Internship, coursework, or project experience related to automation, process improvement, system integrations, or data transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with identifying, documenting, and improving manual business processes through workflow automation, scripting, and repeatable system-driven solutions.
  • Support the design, testing, and maintenance of automated jobs, scheduled processes, data movement routines, and exception-based workflows.
  • Build and maintain basic to moderately complex SQL queries, scripts, and automation routines to extract, transform, validate, and load data between systems.
  • Assist with file-based, API-based, and other system-to-system integrations used to exchange, validate, and transform data with internal platforms and 3rd party vendors.
  • Monitor automated processes, review logs and output, troubleshoot failures, and escalate issues as needed to ensure reliable operation.
  • Validate automated outputs for formatting, logic, completeness, record counts, and alignment with business and operational requirements.
  • Participate in user testing, defect resolution, and change implementation for automation initiatives, system enhancements, and process improvement efforts.
  • Conduct data profiling and basic analysis to support automation design, data mapping, field validation, and source-to-target accuracy.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, data maps, and support materials for automated workflows and integrations.
  • Prepare and distribute recurring reports, dashboards, or data extracts as needed, with primary emphasis on automation, efficiency, and process scalability rather than manual reporting.
  • Collaborate across multiple Lines of Business and support special projects assigned by management.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance to support business operations and ensure reliability in meeting departmental needs.
  • Perform other duties and special projects assigned to support organizational objectives and enhance operational efficiency.
