About The Position

Under the supervision of the IT Manager, the Jr. Systems Administrator supports the firm’s IT infrastructure, including on‑premises and cloud-based systems. This role assists with the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of network, server, endpoint, and Microsoft 365 environments, ensuring system reliability, security, and availability in a fast‑paced legal environment.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or junior systems administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and Windows-based environments.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
  • Familiarity with basic security concepts such as MFA, endpoint protection, phishing awareness, and access controls.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • Highly dependable, trustworthy, and professional with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting professional services or legal firm operations is a plus.
  • Exposure to virtualization, cloud services, or endpoint management tools is a plus.
  • Technical certifications (A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft fundamentals) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in administering and maintaining LAN, WAN, and cloud-connected network environments, including servers, workstations, and virtual infrastructure.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security; review system, network, and application logs; and respond to alerts and incidents.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management for hardware and software.
  • Support Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Entra ID (Azure AD), SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Assist with identity and access management, user provisioning, MFA enforcement, and permission controls.
  • Support endpoint management, including device setup, configuration, and troubleshooting for Windows and mobile devices.
  • Perform and verify data backups, assist with disaster recovery testing, and support business continuity efforts.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity, and system issues; coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain email security, antivirus/endpoint protection, and basic cybersecurity controls.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and professionally to non‑technical end users, including attorneys and staff.
  • Assist with IT projects, documentation, and process improvements as assigned.
