This posting is open to candidates located in West Chicago, Illinois, and LaVergne, Tennessee Purpose of Role The Learning Experience Designer creates, delivers, and evaluates learning solutions that enable employees to perform effectively and consistently. This role partners with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design engaging, learner-centered training aligned to business needs and operational realities.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and delivering training in corporate or operational environments.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum design and training.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Instructional Technology, Communications, English, Management Science, or related field preferred.
  • Position requires up to 15% travel to conduct training.
  • Excellent written, analytical, and numerical skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to write user-friendly and engaging copy about highly technical subjects.
  • Confident with public speaking and role-playing skills.
  • Natural inclination towards driving projects towards completion.
  • Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal skills combined with the ability to collaborate with employees at all levels within the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Five years’ experience in a manufacturing, electronics, or technology industry preferred.
  • Charismatic in teaching style.
  • German or Spanish fluency is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify training needs and translate business requirements into effective learning solutions.
  • Design training courses or modify and improve existing courses to meet and/or accelerate addressing specific business objectives.
  • Develop and organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
  • Evaluate and assess training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of new skills and techniques into employee work behavior.
  • Consult with the Group Learning System Lead to manage content upload, delivery, and maintenance via the Sims University Learning Center for SLS Global, including managing events, curriculum and adding users or courses.
  • Analyze and leverage available global courses and curriculum for all proposed programs to ensure the best utilization of the system.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Use company brand voice and messaging to reinforce the company culture.
  • Support SLS Learning & Development team projects, such as leadership training initiatives and the SLS Knowledge Hub.
  • Support training delivery in various venues such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, webinars, workshops, and e-learning.
  • Keep up to date on the latest training trends, developments, and best practices.
