About The Position

Leasing Specialist – Affordable Housing | Frederick, MD Salary: $19 - $21 per hour | Full Time | Monday–Friday | 8:30am - 5:30pm | Occasional Saturdays 10:00am - 1:00pm Connect People to Homes. Requirements

  • 2+ years of apartment leasing experience preferred.
  • Experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, HOME, RD) strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Fair Housing and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Basic math and data-entry abilities for rent collection and recordkeeping.
  • High school diploma or GED required; COS or TCS certification desired or willingness to obtain.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Champion great first impressions – greet prospective residents, conduct tours, and highlight the features that make Conifer communities special.
  • Drive occupancy – market available units, respond to inquiries, and manage leasing applications and renewals.
  • Ensure compliance – process applications and recertifications accurately under LIHTC, HUD, or other affordable housing programs.
  • Deliver exceptional service – assist residents with rent collection, service requests, and community communications.
  • Support teamwork – collaborate with maintenance and office staff to maintain high standards for property appearance and safety.
  • Stay organized – manage reports, filing, and data entry to keep operations running smoothly.
