Line Lead - Weekend shifts
About The Position
At Universal Pure, we're dedicated to giving people everywhere safe, fresh, and delicious food to eat and drink. We provide high-pressure processing (HPP), value-added services (VAS), and cold storage for our partners in the food industry. We are focused on safety and driven by service. The Production Team Lead will operate in our cold storage warehouse. This is a Weekend shift position working from Friday through Sunday from 6 am to 6 pm. Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes potential overtime, weekends, and different work schedules
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to balance productivity, quality, and safety
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Six months of material handling equipment/forklift experience preferred
- Experience in leading, supervising and training associates preferred
- Experience using warehouse management and inventory systems preferred
- Experience with the refrigeration, warehouse, production, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with computers and Microsoft Office preferred
- Experience following safety procedures preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate, and prioritize the operational tasks directed by the supervisor.
- Communicate and execute work assignments to meet set expectations by department and customer requirements.
- Communicate with and perform as an assistant for all staff and departments such as the supervisors, support staff, leadership, and front-line employees.
- Communicate with customers and their needs.
- Prepare job-related paperwork.
- Escalate work-related and interpersonal issues to leadership as needed.
- Perform quality checks and report failures to the supervisor.
- Assist and coordinate training for new and current employees.
- Supervise employees to ensure they are following Safety and Quality processes and regulations.
- Be a resource for Safety, QA, and Company processes and procedures.
- Handle any minor tasks related to the duties of the position.
- Follow health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality are mandatory for an hourly role.
