About The Position

As our organization continues to grow, we are looking for a Loss Prevention Coordinator (Edmonton, AB) who will play a key role in protecting our business operations and supporting our Canna Cabana store teams. This role is responsible for assisting with investigations, analyzing loss trends, and helping implement programs that strengthen asset protection and compliance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, investigative in nature, and committed to maintaining a secure and accountable workplace. The Loss Prevention Coordinator is responsible for investigating preventable loss in our retail stores in the Edmonton, AB and conducts store audit procedures.The ideal candidate is highly dependable, demonstrates ethical and safe work practices, has a high level of discretion and is passionate about loss prevention initiatives. The successful candidate will live in the Edmonton area and be able to drive to our many stores in this geographical area and you will work flexible hours to accommodate hours of operations for stores. You will be responsible for identification and mitigation of external theft and fraud trends within a specific market and group of stores.

Requirements

  • Business Management Certificate or Degree.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Valid Alberta Security license.
  • CannSell Cannabis License.
  • 1 – 3 years of experience in retail loss prevention, security, or law enforcement.
  • Strong communicator.
  • Customer service driven.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and loss prevention strategies and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of the criminal code.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a cannabis environment would be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, recommends, and implements systems to minimize loss of merchandise, money, or company assets.
  • Audits our current POS system (Point of Sales System) by store to identify issues.
  • Monitors inventory to identify issues at store level.
  • Investigates suspicious customer and/or employee activity remotely via cctv camera.
  • Conducts periodic audits to confirm video surveillance systems are working properly.
  • Works with finance team to ensure cash is accounted for both in the back end and in the POS system.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to prevent theft at point of sale or inventory storage areas.
  • Conducts remote audits via cctv for a variety of different investigations, prepares reports on the findings of the audit.
  • Researches, suggests, and implements additional security measures.
  • Assist with other duties as required.
