Mail Delivery Driver Oregon Department of Administrative Services Salem, Oregon The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Mail Delivery Driver to join our Publishing & Distribution team! A Day in the Life Load, sort, band, and stage mail for delivery Deliver mail, parcels, printed materials, and confidential documents to agencies throughout the Willamette Valley Operate safely under all weather and traffic conditions Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure needed repairs are reported Use tools like hand trucks, carts, scanners, and digital applications Provide excellent customer support and advise on proper mail preparation Keep routes on schedule and maintain accurate tracking records What We Are Looking For Minimum Qualifications: Two (2) years of experience operating vehicles to deliver mail, parcels, or merchandise. Oregon driver license Class C and an acceptable driving record. Desired Attributes: Experience operating light and medium duty delivery vehicles (halfton and larger) Ability to safely use hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment Excellent interpersonal skills and experience communicating well with others. Demonstrated proficiency using mobile applications, computers, email, and online training tools Strong organizational and time management skills Reliable and able to work independently Comfortable and confident driving in a wide range of weather conditions and varied city environments Ability to navigate efficiently without relying on GPS or other navigation tools. Working Conditions This is a very active, hands-on role. You will regularly: Lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 lbs. Additional Details This recruitment is for 1 permanent, full-time, SEIU-represented Mail Delivery Driver position, and may be used to fill future vacancies. Employee is required to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the state where the employee resides. The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%. Finalists will be subject to a computerized criminal history check including fingerprints.
