About The Position

As the Medical Engagement and Experience Strategy Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Avalere Health Medical. You will lead the evolution of our engagement and experience design at an enterprise level—ensuring we move decisively beyond traditional, channelled medical communications toward integrated, insight driven, and experience led engagement models. This is a senior, high impact role created in response to fundamental shifts in the medical communications market. Scientific excellence sits at the heart of effective medical communications and is increasingly strengthened through the thoughtful integration of insight, experience, data and AI to enable meaningful engagement and measurable outcomes. Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Transformation, you will operate as both a growth leader and a capability transformer. You will set the strategic direction for medical engagement, build scalable and differentiated propositions, and embed omnichannel thinking across priority clients and accounts. Your remit spans strategy, commercialisation, delivery excellence and enterprise influence. You will work at the intersection of Medical, Strategy, Transformation, Digital and Client Services—bringing together digital, UX, motion, AI and data capabilities to create cohesive, future ready engagement programmes. Critically, you will ensure these capabilities are not only innovative, but commercially viable, scalable and grounded in scientific and regulatory credibility.

Requirements

  • Ideally 10+ years’ experience in Medical Communications, Healthcare Advertising or related healthcare consultancy.
  • Deep expertise in omnichannel engagement within medical and scientific communications.
  • Demonstrable track record of driving revenue growth and evolving commercial offerings.
  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary teams across strategy, digital and delivery.
  • Strong client-facing credibility with senior medical and commercial stakeholders.

  • Identify and develop growth opportunities across existing clients and new business.
  • Shape and lead senior‑level pitches and strategic client conversations.
  • Delivery Excellence & Operational Leadership
  • Oversee the quality and effectiveness of digital and engagement‑led medical programmes.
  • Embed omnichannel thinking into delivery approaches and ways of working.
  • Partner with Operations to support scalable and sustainable execution.
  • Client & Market Leadership
  • Act as senior sponsor on key strategic client accounts.
  • Lead engagement with senior medical and executive‑level stakeholders.
  • Represent Avalere Health externally through thought leadership and industry forums.
  • Capability & Team Development
  • Build and lead a high‑performing engagement and digital medical capability.
  • Develop and inspire talent across digital strategy, UX, content, analytics and engagement design.
  • Champion innovation and omnichannel thinking across Medical Communications teams.
