Job Description Summer Intern: Candidates must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) in a hybrid, in-office format from June 1, through August 21, 2026. No relocation assistance is available. Being currently authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. THE ROLE Working as a team member in Corporate Research, you will help push the future state of Active Noise Control for wearable devices. The Bose intern program aims to provide students with hands-on opportunities to solve important challenges that can shape the future of audio technology. You will collaborate with research, acoustics, mechanical engineering and prototyping experts to build devices that advance the state of noise control. Our team strives to create a meaningful, practical, and seamless internship experience that empowers you to confidently launch your career after graduation.

Requirements

  • PhD student with experience in in-ear acoustic applications
  • Experience with acoustic measurements and in-ear measurements
  • Experience in MATLAB
  • Understanding of the human ear and hearing mechanisms
  • Demonstrated mechanical, acoustical, and/or transducer prototyping experience

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, fabricating, and testing prototype HW test devices with complex mechanical and acoustic coupling
  • Modeling and predicting the performance and limitations of these devices
  • Writing high-quality reports on the design and characterization of these devices
