About The Position

Sticky Fingers Cooking brings hands-on cooking adventures to kids through after-school programs, camps, and special events. We partner with schools across Northern Virginia and Washington, DC to deliver engaging, confidence-building experiences through food. We're growing quickly-and looking for a strong Operations Manager to help lead our team and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. This is a leadership + logistics role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing people, and can solve problems quickly and confidently.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing a team
  • Are highly organized and love building systems
  • Can juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball
  • Are a strong communicator and problem-solver
  • Stay calm and decisive under pressure
  • Enjoy working in a fast-moving, people-focused environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in youth programs, camps, or education
  • Background in operations, logistics, or event coordination
  • Experience managing teachers, instructors, or program staff

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership Manage, support, and motivate a team of 20–30 part-time instructors
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members
  • Build weekly schedules and ensure all classes are fully staffed
  • Coordinate last-minute subs and coverage when needed
  • Foster a positive, reliable, and professional team culture
  • Program Operations Oversee daily operations across multiple school sites
  • Communicate schedules, updates, and logistics clearly to instructors
  • Troubleshoot real-time issues and keep programs running smoothly
  • Inventory & Logistics Manage cooking kits and supply inventory
  • Coordinate purchasing and distribution
  • Track equipment and reduce unnecessary costs
  • Program Quality Ensure consistent, high-quality experiences across all locations
  • Support food safety and allergy protocols
  • Address feedback from schools and families
