About The Position

Under general supervision, provide front-line support for employees and departments regarding payroll questions and concerns. Approve and process workflow transactions for hourly non-benefited employees.  Manage the payroll email account and payroll phones. Assist with the biweekly and monthly payroll processing as needed. This position has been deemed essential as addressed in the University of Wyoming’s Employee Handbook [http://www.uwyo.edu/hr/_files/docs/human-resources/Employee-Handbook.pdf]. Employees in essential positions may be required to work during emergency closures and winter closure based on the nature of their job duties and the reasons for the closure.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years work-related experience

  • Ability to follow written and oral instruction implicitly
  • Data entry with high level of accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Act as front-line resource for employees with specific payroll questions regarding salary, deductions and taxes.
  • Monitor and approve all hourly non-benefited HCM workflow transactions.
  • Load corresponding costing information for hourly transactions.
  • Manage the payroll email account and phones, responding to questions or redirecting as needed.
  • Assist departments and employees with timecard related issues.
  • Run queries, update balances and load payouts for overtime as needed.
  • Assist with the processing of all payrolls as directed.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
