About The Position

Main Purpose: The Planner / Scheduler develops, maintains and progresses schedules for the production of generator enclosures. This role is also responsible for developing task duration, predecessors / successor dependencies, indention hierarchy, baseline and critical paths. This position develops the schedule, in coordination with the project manager, general manager, production and planning group. The Planner / Scheduler actively monitors the schedule and is a key driver in remediation / improvement of the schedule.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience as a scheduler on major heavy manufacturing projects
  • Works well individually or within a team
  • Ability to apply general scheduling principles
  • Must have the ability to develop schedules from contract documents
  • Must have the ability to resource load the schedule based on estimate and / or work orders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel
  • Must have the ability to apply coding / identifiers to make the schedule a more functional document
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with scheduling generator enclosure production and assembly
  • Strong Microsoft Project or Primavera skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the generator enclosure schedule
  • Conduct and attend regular meetings / communication with the project / planning team to discuss schedule related issues, improvements and / or changes
  • Develop and gather information to provide regular updates to the schedule, for the customer per the contract requirements and for the manufacturing shop as needed
  • Develop resource loading of the tasks to produce manpower requirements
  • Produce base line and critical path analysis, developing schedule metrics to track performance to schedule
  • Analyze the schedule regularly and develop a recovery plan / acceleration through use of calendars, linking and overtime
  • Regularly review the schedule critical path and performance to baseline
  • Be the key driver in resolving scheduling issues and proactively developing resolutions
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor
