About The Position

This role will examine and process building and development plans and assist the Technical Review Committee.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in Urban Planning or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Reviews building and development plans for all types of developments for compliance with zoning regulations.
• Reviews and approves plans for new construction, alterations and renovations for compliance with approved work and issuance of building certificates of occupancy.
• Assists with the review of development plans submitted for approval by the City’s Technical Review Committee, identifying noncompliance on plans and correction sheets, suggesting modifications to bring plans into compliance and providing written comments to applicants.
• Assists with the implementation of tree protection and landscape regulations.
• Conducts site inspections to verify ordinance compliance.
• Prepares agendas and application files for community board meetings.
• Accepts applications and maintains filing system.
• Receives, researches and evaluates complaints about possible violations of zoning regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
