About The Position

The Plant Intern position will use a combination of Engineering, Accounting, and Organizational tools to drive the improvement/optimization of various departments. Work will be divided between Engineering, Operations, and Continuous Improvement. The individual will lead small scale projects that may require utilization of outside technical resources. Assignments for this position emphasize data collection and analysis, operations team interfacing, equipment design, change management, project management, and problem solving. The position interacts daily with multiple departments, corporate engineering, and/or internal/external project teams. Excellent two-way communication skills are required to support the needs of these departments & teams. This position is looking for an individual to fill a key developmental role in our plant. This individual will be responsible for aiding with capital projects, developing technical guidance, conduct e and contributing to our culture of safety. Projects will be focused on safety, quality, efficiency, improvement methods, and cost reductions pertaining to our World Class Operation (WCO). Interaction with plant operations, engineers from other plants, contractors, and corporate engineering should be expected and will provide good networking opportunities.

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree school program
  • Currently pursuing advanced education in Engineering, Sciences, Technology, and Management, or relevant field of study
  • Sophomores & Juniors preferred
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • No Visa Sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Manufacturing experience desired
  • High-Speed manufacturing experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Meet all plant and company metric goals for Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Costs
  • Day-to-day communications with partners, customers, stakeholders, and others
  • Shadow operators on roles or unit ops as required for assigned workstreams
  • Lead small scale capital projects (<$50k)
  • Capital Project Management (ORW – One Right Way)
  • Contractor Management
  • Operational Readiness Training & Qualification
  • Lead minor non-capital projects
  • Participate in CI, OPEX, manufacturing trials, Kaizen, or AR as a technical resource
  • Participate in root cause analyses (BDA, RCFA, etc.)
  • Perform drawing updates (P&ID, 2D layouts, etc.)
