About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Plumbing Helper to assist with the installation of plumbing systems in new residential construction projects. This entry-level position works under the supervision of licensed plumbers and provides hands-on training for individuals interested in building a career in the plumbing and construction industry. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn a skilled trade while working in a fast-paced construction environment.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to understand safety instructions, job assignments, and project documentation
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Willingness to learn the plumbing trade
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
  • Previous construction or plumbing experience is helpful but not required
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in a construction environment
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb ladders
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and elevated areas
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
  • Work is performed on active residential construction sites
  • Work may take place indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and dust
  • Environment may include loud noise from construction equipment and machinery
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots
  • Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines
  • Travel to various job sites in the Austin area may be required

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Previous construction or plumbing experience is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed plumbers with the installation of residential plumbing systems including pipes, fittings, fixtures, and appliances
  • Support both rough-in and trim-out phases of plumbing installation
  • Follow blueprints, job specifications, and local plumbing and building codes
  • Assist with plumbing system testing and inspections
  • Transport tools, equipment, and materials to job sites as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, vehicles, and work areas
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • Report hazardous or unsafe conditions immediately
  • Work with other construction trades to ensure timely project completion
  • Participate in on-the-job training and mentorship to develop plumbing skills
