About The Position

This role serves as the strategic advisor on all compensation matters for the Product organization, partnering closely with senior leaders and People Business Partners. You will influence compensation strategy, design frameworks, and ensure pay practices attract, retain, and motivate top talent. The Principal Compensation Partner analyzes market trends, advises on complex compensation scenarios, and guides managers in making informed decisions. This position provides the opportunity to shape pay programs that align business objectives with employee experience, drive engagement, and maintain competitiveness in a fast-moving environment. Collaboration, analytical rigor, and consultative expertise are central to your impact.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in compensation with strong business partnering and consulting capabilities.
  • Proven experience supporting Product, Engineering, or Technology organizations in dynamic environments.
  • Deep expertise in compensation fundamentals, including market pricing, job evaluation, salary structures, and equity compensation.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and advise senior leaders; comfortable presenting to executives.
  • Strong analytical skills to synthesize data into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and credibility.
  • High judgment and discretion when managing sensitive compensation matters.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders, recruiters, and People Business Partners to provide expert guidance on offers, promotions, retention, and organizational design.
  • Lead compensation planning cycles for the Product organization, ensuring alignment with enterprise principles, internal equity, and budget.
  • Advise on complex scenarios including counter-offers, equity negotiations, and specialized talent segments.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with Product executive leadership through proactive engagement and responsive support.
  • Conduct regular market analyses for Product roles, providing data-driven recommendations to maintain competitive positioning.
  • Coach and enable managers on compensation philosophy, decision-making frameworks, and effective compensation conversations.
  • Contribute to the evolution of enterprise-wide compensation philosophy, structures, and policies based on insights from the Product organization.
