About the Team: At Quizlet, Product Operations focuses on how work gets done. The team partners with Product and Engineering to improve execution reliability by strengthening the systems, operating rhythms, and shared visibility that enable teams to plan, coordinate, and deliver complex work. We are moving toward an embedded operating model, where Product Operations partners closely with product and engineering teams to execute on priority initiatives and team operations while remaining part of a centralized group that collaborates on standards, tools, and practices across the organization. As the team and operating model continue to learn and evolve, roles flex to meet the organization’s highest-priority needs, creating opportunities to work across different product areas and initiatives over time. About the Role: We’re looking for a Product Operations Program Manager to drive execution for complex, cross-functional product work within a product and engineering pillar. This role combines hands-on program leadership with ownership of the operational systems, rhythms, and practices that enable teams to plan and deliver work consistently. You’ll own execution for select high impact initiatives each quarter, ensure company wide operational programs land effectively within your pillar, and partner with other Product Ops leaders to build systems and processes that scale across the organization. You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering leaders to translate complexity into clear plans, realistic sequencing, and early risk visibility. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and operations and is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, thinks in systems, and enjoys making complex work land predictably. We’re happy to share that this is an onsite position in our San Francisco office. To help foster team collaboration, we require that employees be in the office a minimum of three days per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and as needed by your manager or the company. We believe that this working environment facilitates increased work efficiency, team partnership, and supports growth as an employee and organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in program management, project management, product operations, or a related execution-focused role within a product-led organization
  • Proven experience driving execution for complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning product, engineering, and GTM partners
  • Technical awareness— you’re comfortable understanding high-level system architecture, platform dependencies, data flows, and technical constraints well enough to anticipate execution risks and sequencing challenges
  • Ability to partner credibly with engineering leaders by proactively identifying potential risks, asking the right technical questions and translating technical complexity into clear execution plans and communication
  • A deep systems-thinking mindset—you naturally look for patterns, design repeatable workflows, and improve how work scales across teams
  • Experience designing or evolving operational systems, workflows, and operating rhythms that improve delivery reliability and reduce coordination overhead
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and change, with a calm, structured approach to problem-solving
  • Clear, confident communicator who can align diverse stakeholders around priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience partnering with platform, infrastructure, or data teams, especially where dependencies or sequencing were non-trivial
  • Exposure to highly technical initiatives (e.g., migrations, foundational investments, ML-adjacent systems), even if not owning technical decisions
  • Experience supporting execution during organizational change (reorgs, rapid growth, operating model shifts)
  • Experience with consumer-facing web and mobile products

Responsibilities

  • Own execution for a select set of high-impact, cross-functional initiatives each quarter
  • Develop and manage initiative plans, milestones, dependencies, and delivery signals to ensure predictable execution
  • Proactively surface execution risks, constraints, and tradeoffs, partnering with Product and Engineering leads to resolve issues before delivery is at risk
  • Maintain clear ownership, timelines, and status so teams and stakeholders have a shared understanding of progress and risk
  • Serve as the operational owner for your assigned pillar, ensuring teams operate with clarity, consistency, and predictable execution practices
  • Ensure company-wide Product Ops programs, standards, and operating rhythms are implemented consistently within the pillar, adapting where necessary to fit team realities
  • Own execution health for the pillar by identifying operational friction, gaps, or breakdowns and driving durable improvements over time
  • Act as the primary operational point of contact for execution questions, patterns, and improvements within the pillar
  • Partner with other Product Ops leaders to design, pilot, and evolve organizational systems and processes that scale execution across all product teams
  • Design and improve operational systems, workflows, and documentation that reduce coordination overhead
  • Partner with Go To Market teams (Marketing, User Ops, T+S, Legal, etc.) to support launch readiness and execution for key initiatives
  • Ensure launch plans account for timing, dependencies, risks, and downstream enablement needs while maintaining clear ownership boundaries
  • Act as a connector across Product, Engineering, and GTM partners to ensure changes in scope, timing, or approach are communicated clearly and early

Benefits

  • Collaborate with your manager and team to create a healthy work-life balance
  • 20 vacation days that we expect you to take!
  • Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance (100% employee and 75% dependent PPO, Dental, VSP Choice)
  • Employer-sponsored 401k plan with company match
  • Access to LinkedIn Learning and other resources to support professional growth
  • Paid Family Leave, FSA, HSA, Commuter benefits, and Wellness benefits
  • 40 hours of annual paid time off to participate in volunteer programs of choice
