About The Position

West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Research Assistant. The Research Assistant will assist faculty and students with completion of research in biomedical research laboratory. Responsible for performing scientific experiments, ordering supplies, maintaining bacterial strains and cell culture lines, laboratory maintenance and cleaning, and working with undergraduate students in the laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Perform scientific experiments.
• Record and analyze data accurately.
• Manage laboratory inventory and ordering supplies.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as microscopes, spectrometers, and centrifuges.
• Prepare media and maintain bacterial cultures and cell lines.
• Assist undergraduate and graduate students with designing and conducting experiments in the lab.
• Clean and sterilize laboratory equipment and workspaces.
• Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs of equipment as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Maintain up-to-date laboratory notebook and prepare graphs, tables, slides, and summaries of data when requested.
• Complete all required university safety and training modules.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
