About The Position

The Research Assistant supports investigators by performing moderately complex research and experimentation following established protocols. This position performs routine computer lab and equipment maintenance, such as developing, testing, and maintaining research software code on computer systems, sets-up computer environments and operates various computational equipment, and assists with research projects. This position also performs various clerical and editorial duties, to include compiling, processing, and analyzing data, as well as performing training duties.

• Broad knowledge involving artificial intelligence (AI) techniques or other specialized knowledge is desired

Responsibilities

• Assists with research projects; performs independent research; plans, designs and implements research projects; prepares and maintains artificial intelligence (AI) models run on data; develops AI models; administers the application of AI models to data; performs various assessments of AI models; manages security of computing equipment; filters and organizes data for analysis using data cleaning and analysis techniques; orders computing laboratory services; performs library research; prepares datasets; interprets experimental test data; performs updates of computer equipment; cleans, integrates, and manages data
• Sets-up and operates various scientific computing and high-performance computing systems; sets-up and operates AI models run on tabular, imaging, and multimodal data sets collected from various systems and scientific apparatus
• Performs various clerical duties including typing, answering phones, preparing correspondence, preparing and maintaining bibliographies, and completing applications and forms
• Compiles processes and analyzes data; records research procedures and results; files and maintains records; codes data for input for electronic data processing; inputs and retrieves data using computers
• Performs other duties as assigned
