About The Position

CLE in San Diego, CA is currently seeking a full-time ILS Coordinator/ Resident Advisor who plays a key role in supporting CLE students as they transition to independent living. This live on-site position blends direct instruction in independent living skills with active oversight of student housing, safety, and wellness. Resident Advisors provide individualized coaching, support daily routines, help facilitate community engagement, and serve as the sole on-call staff member for after-hours and weekend emergencies. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social sciences, education, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience working with individuals with autism or related disabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving ability, especially in high-pressure or emergency situations.

Responsibilities

Serve as a positive ambassador for CLE’s housing model during tours with prospective students and families.
Help students build practical tools for daily life including time management, conflict resolution, and self-monitoring strategies.
Support students with medication routines and assist with prescription refills as needed.
Act as a primary advisor to designated students: conduct weekly coaching sessions, maintain communication with families and funders, complete reports, and attend progress meetings.
Provide timely documentation and maintain student progress records, financial trackers, and living skills inventories.
Conduct scheduled and as-needed student check-ins to ensure safety, well-being, and conflict resolution.
Respond to after-hours issues as part of the staff on-call rotation, including emergency healthcare transport and overnight support when necessary.
Ensure students are prepared for emergencies with appropriate kits and knowledge of procedures.
Support and supervise social outings and transportation needs (encouraging use of public transit when possible).
Engage with weekly staff and Independent Living Skills team meetings to provide updates, collaborate on solutions, and contribute to student planning.
Coordinate Independent Living Skills Instruction including, but not limited to, meal planning and preparation, household and organization, financial instruction, and self-care.
Provide instruction, consultation, and coaching to students in life skills, conflict resolution, self-monitoring, and time management.
Collaborate and communicate with other staff in a timely manner to ensure student needs are efficiently met for their ongoing safety and development.
Assist students in their medication routine and may also assist students with refilling prescriptions, per programming needs identified by CLE team.
Supervise, train, and meet weekly (individually and as a team) with ILS instructors. This includes interviewing and hiring new team members when needed.
Serve as an advisor to designated students, which includes: weekly coaching sessions, serving as a liaison to student’s family and funding sources, reading and releasing student session notes, and preparing documentation if needed.
Provide timely and accurate documentation through written student progress notes and other reports as required.
Schedule staff and student ILS supports on a weekly basis.
Provide instruction and coaching in independent living skills including meal planning, home organization, financial literacy, and self-care routines.
Assist with housing responsibilities such as rental applications, property communication, and ensuring safe, organized living spaces.
