What You’ll Do: Under the leadership of the Store Manager, the Sales Associate is a member of the Donated Goods Retail Operations team and is tasked with the daily operations of the retail store. The Sales Associate is responsible for obtaining payment for merchandise by accurately itemizing and totaling customer purchases, keeping the store full and fresh of merchandise by processing, stocking and pulling, and excellent customer service. This position will also assist in the training and development of store team members, clients, and volunteers.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, with flexibility to accommodate diverse communication styles and abilities, ensuring inclusive engagement with the public, department staff, and individuals with varying needs.
  • Employment offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a drug test and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Use a computer-based register system, perform cash handling, and reconcile tills accurately, while meeting production standards for store tasks like sorting, stocking, and pricing.
  • Provide excellent customer service, assist with store operations and merchandise, and ensure proper donation processing and product rotation per Goodwill guidelines.
  • Train and develop team members, track donations, and perform basic calculations to ensure store operations are in line with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and a positive attitude while assisting with store merchandise, security, and janitorial tasks.
  • Adhere to Goodwill policies for sales, exchanges, cash handling, and safety, ensuring a positive customer and donor experience.
  • Notify management of inventory levels, process donations, and remain flexible with scheduling, including nights and weekends.
