About The Position

The Sales Development Director builds and leads a new inside sales organization at Olympus, including setting an aspirational vision for the inside sales channel to support overall business objectives. Leading execution including hiring, training, and managing team members, setting targets, and reporting on KPIs, coordinating with all other sales and omnichannel leaders, with the goal of achieving or exceeding revenue and margin objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in technical field)
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial role, ideally with medical device company, but alternately in technology industry
  • Minimum of 5 years in team management, with the capacity to: Stimulate and motivate people. Solve problems in an agile way. Coach improvement, define and lead Career Development Plans. Demonstrate strong commercial acumen.
  • Experience as a sales leader in inside or field sales organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's, Graduate, or certification related to healthcare or marketing/sales preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills and strategic thinking.
  • Proven sales coach who is committed to the continued success of the company.
  • Experience in a B2B corporate environment including solution selling and/or management.
  • Medium complexity contract negotiation skills.
  • Complementary training in sales techniques, customer service, business skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, building, and leadership of a ~20-person team that could grow to 40+ within three years, including setting vision and execution plan.
  • Hiring of Inside Sales reps and supervisor cohort, and supporting onboarding and training as sales team grows, including direct coaching of Inside Sales reps and supervisors.
  • Planning and communicating team objectives, influencing across the organization, and supporting team dynamics.
  • Identification and resolution of impediments and bottlenecks within the team.
  • Coordination with other sales and channel leaders on process and tools.
  • Collaboration with field sales leaders, digital marketing, omnichannel, and commercial operations to design customer journeys and necessary tools and processes that enable them to support improved customer experience.
  • Design and implementation of analytics-based approaches into Inside Sales workflow, and regular refinement.
  • Participation in ad-hoc projects that improve productivity of the business.
  • Advising team on resolution of complex situations.
  • Direct exchange with clients in special, complex and/or high-value operations.
  • Development of feedback sessions, training, and coaching activities with the team.
  • Designing and monitoring KPIs at group and individual level.
  • Setting quarterly sales plans and tracking achievement.
  • Elaboration of follow-up reports for the channel supervisor and sales team.
