About The Position

As a Security Officer - Driver Patrol in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access control and badge activity, respond to requests with strong customer service, and communicate clearly with site teams. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, backed by an agile, reliable, innovative culture built on teamwork, integrity, and people first.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement/military/security experience OR a college degree.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR/First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an industrial processing location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site management and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, processing areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Control access at gates and/or designated entry points by verifying identification, checking visitor and contractor authorization, and documenting deliveries and vehicle traffic per site policy.
  • Complete security-related reports, shift logs, and incident documentation, and communicate relevant observations to supervisors and/or the client representative.
