As a Screener at a busy healthcare location, you will welcome patients, visitors, and staff, support entry screening and access procedures, and watch for unusual activity that may require a security-related response. You will maintain a visible presence, communicate clearly with clinical teams and the public, and document observations. Requirements

  • A guard card and/or security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
  • Screen visitors, vendors, and staff for authorized access, direct foot traffic to the appropriate check-in points, and help maintain orderly entry areas.
  • Monitor for prohibited items and/or concerning behavior, report observations per post orders, and assist with de-escalation when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with clinical staff and/or local responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, documenting observations and reporting maintenance hazards and/or unusual activity.
