As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a government location supporting a major public arts campus, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will assist with access points, alarms, and incident documentation while delivering professional customer service and clear communication to staff and visitors. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location open to staff, vendors, and visitors.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, reporting, and coordinating with onsite personnel and/or public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout facilities, galleries, offices, and exterior perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and policy concerns. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow by verifying credentials, managing entry and exit, and directing guests and deliveries in accordance with site procedures.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation, including incident reports, patrol logs, and observations, and communicate key updates during shift briefings and/or post orders.
