About The Position

As a Security Officer - Front Desk in Harrisburg, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Learning Centers, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a Learning Center, you will welcome employees and visitors, manage access control, issue badges, and monitor activity through desk-based systems. You will document incidents, communicate clearly with site teams, and respond to security-related concerns with a calm, service-minded approach. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, employees, students, families, vendors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Staff the front desk to greet and direct visitors, manage check-in and check-out processes, and verify identification, appointments, and authorization for entry.
  • Monitor access control systems, alarms, cameras, and communications equipment, documenting activity and reporting irregular conditions per post orders to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications to site leadership and/or local responders as directed by protocol.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and incident documentation, and support administrative tasks such as issuing temporary credentials and maintaining visitor records in accordance with site requirements.
