Job Description As a Security Officer - Main Gate Access in Spartanburg, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Allied Universal Officer supporting access control at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, greet team members and visitors, and document activity with clear, professional communication. You will conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents while delivering customer-focused service. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Control access at entrances, gates and/or dock areas by verifying identification, issuing badges, maintaining visitor and contractor logs and directing drivers and visitors to the proper check-in areas.
- Monitor CCTV, alarms and access control systems; document unusual activity and report issues to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including traffic flow concerns, disputes and/or medical situations, and complete required reports.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, yard, parking areas and perimeter, noting hazards, unsecured doors or dock areas and conditions that may help to deter unwanted activity.
