About The Position

As a Security Officer - Reception Desk Driver in Liverpool, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a major utilities location, you will be the welcoming first point of contact, checking in employees and visitors, managing access credentials, monitoring entry activity, and documenting security-related events. You will support a professional, customer-service focused environment through clear communication, teamwork, and integrity, while staying agile and reliable as needs change. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in the job state.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by greeting employees, contractors, and visitors at the front desk, answering questions, and directing individuals according to site-specific procedures.
  • Manage access control activities including sign-in and sign-out processes, issuing temporary badges, verifying identification, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs for a utilities location.
  • Monitor security-related systems and communications such as cameras, alarms, phones, radios, and/or email, and report unusual activity or service issues per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and documenting events in a clear written report.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including coordinating with site personnel and first responders, and helping to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
