The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as food stamps, are federally funded initiatives designed to help low-income families purchase healthy food. The WIC/SNAP Compliance team at Walmart is responsible for defining, enforcing, and promoting WIC and SNAP policies, programs, and products to ensure safe transactions and an excellent customer experience, thereby building trust across our online, in-store, and in-club businesses. WIC provides specific amounts and types of nutritious foods based on the nutritional needs and category of the participant (e.g., pregnant, breastfeeding, postpartum, infant, or child). Unlike SNAP, WIC does not provide a dollar amount to buy food, except for a cash value benefit for fruits and vegetables. SNAP offers a monthly dollar amount to purchase food for the household, determined by the number of eligible household members. SNAP benefits are loaded onto an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, which functions like a debit card. The Sr. Analyst is responsible for reviewing internal and external item information, analyzing item data to help make confident SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) determinations. The Analyst will help develop and enhance SNAP processes related to enforcement of policies. This role will partner with various teams including Compliance, Product, Technology, and Merchant teams. An ideal candidate is highly customer focused and is a detail-oriented, self-starter. We are looking for a cross-functional, team player to support and assist in item risk management that operates with a sense of urgency, is comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting business needs and changing requirements.
