About The Position

The Senior Counsel, Global Supply Chain & Trade serves as the lead legal advisor to the Global Supply Chain organization, which includes Customs & Trade. This individual will join the GSC leadership team and directly support the SVP, Global Supply Chain. This individual will provide regulatory, strategic and transactional support to the GSC organization. This individual should bring pharmaceutical legal experience with the ability to learn quickly, exercise excellent judgement, navigate complexity and be able to work with urgency and creativity across time zones, regulatory schemes, and stakeholders to advise on the successful resolution of legal and business issues while prioritizing the urgent needs of patients Excellent legal judgment and the ability to clearly communicate on complex topics with senior business stakeholders is critical to success in this role.

Requirements

  • Legal degree with 12 or more years of pharmaceutical legal experience.
  • Helpful experience includes law firm, in-house and / or government work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with colleagues and advise and influence senior executives, including SVP or C-suite stakeholders, on high-impact legal and regulatory matters.
  • Proven history of identifying and leading senior stakeholders and colleagues to implement innovative solutions to reduce waste, increase efficiency and improve management of legal risks.
  • Individual should have experience with complex transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead across large, global matrix organizations and influence senior leaders and colleagues across multiple functions to efficiently resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Flexibility to work with speed and quality on a broad range of matters.
  • Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing to senior leaders.
  • Excellent judgement, time management, and cross functional collaboration skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead legal advisor to Senior Vice President of Global Supply Chain, join their senior leadership team, advising on complex issues that arise in the supply of product across the clinical and commercial networks while working closely with Customs and Trade leads and across functions to enable the urgent delivery of medicines to patients
  • Serve as the lead legal advisor on all trade issues, inclusive of licensing, import/export laws, tariffs, sanctions, and similar trade regulations
  • Collaborate with Law & Policy Department colleagues to bring seamless and enterprise-aligned legal support to Global Supply Chain including complex supply, logistics, and transportation transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex supply chain agreements.
  • Monitor evolving global regulations and enforcement trends impacting supply chain operations and trade, and proactively advise leadership on business impact and risk mitigation.

Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
