About The Position

The Senior Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and executing all day-to-day human resource functions across the organization. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR), this role ensures HR Strategy is operationalized effectively while directly managing the day-to-day operations of the HR department, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, benefits administration, and professional development, while promoting equity, inclusion, and employee engagement throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor HR staff.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.
  • Recognizes problems quickly, proposes thoughtful solutions, and executes changes effectively with stakeholder cooperation.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS (preferably ADP and ADPWFN) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Vice President of Human Resources to implement HR strategies that align with AHC’s mission, values, and strategic goals.
  • Develop, document, and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Collect, analyze, and present HR metrics and data to guide HR leadership decision-making.
  • Oversee HR service delivery standards and implement process improvements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
  • Conduct and oversee investigations related to employee concerns or complaints.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors on performance management, corrective action, and employee development.
  • Partner with VP of HR on employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and recognition programs.
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Partner with the VP of HR to develop and design performance management and training for staff.
  • Partner with supervisors to identify training needs and create learning and development plans.
  • Manage AHC’s Professional Development program and reimbursement process.
  • Support VP of HR with succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
  • Supervise the HR Manager for Benefits, HRIS and Payroll to ensure accurate payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance with applicable laws.
  • Review and update HR policies and employee handbook regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations (EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.).
  • Manage HR audits, reporting, and documentation.
  • Support compensation reviews and salary benchmarking processes.
  • Partner with VP of HR to support performance evaluation processes and provide guidance to managers on goal setting, coaching, and corrective action.
  • Support DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives and ensure integration into HR practices.
  • Serve as a role model for AHC’s core values and promote employee well-being and organizational accountability.
  • Manage HRIS functions, ensuring accurate and secure employee data.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement efficiencies.
  • Serve as backup for key HR functions in the absence of team members.
