As the Senior Manager of Business Banking Analytics, you will be responsible for deploying analytics to drive growth and customer engagement across the American Express Business Banking portfolio. The role requires a high level of expertise in driving decisions backed by data insights, deploying statistical methodologies, leading strategic analytics and data techniques. The ideal candidate will be passionate about leveraging a deep understanding of customer and product data to drive business performance. He or she will bring a unique balance of technical skills combined with a strategic mindset and the ability to communicate effectively.

Requirements

  • Relevant professional experience including extensive experience in hands-on analytical role(s) defining and tracking key business metrics, performing deep-dive analyses, and influencing business strategies
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a quantitative field (e.g. statistics, engineering, math, science, economics, etc.)
  • Strong curiosity and initiative in tackling complex business analysis; Ability and desire to dive deeply into the data, relentlessly pursuing its meaning and how these insights can drive business performance
  • Extensive experience translating business problems into analytical frameworks and leading analytical workstreams
  • Demonstrated experience building sustainable data assets using cloud-based analytical tools, querying languages, and visualization software (e.g., SQL, Python, Databricks, Tableau)
  • Proven track record effectively managing priorities, presenting technical findings to non-technical audiences, and independently leading end-to-end analytical projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and analytics-driven findings to non-technical stakeholders, and to explain business processes, concepts, and issues to technical resources
  • Team player with proven ability to influence and collaborate with others across all parts of an organization

Responsibilities

  • Translate business problems and lead analytical workstreams that inform product strategy, customer growth initiatives, retention, and money movement optimization leveraging advanced analytical techniques including clustering, machine learning, and statistical analysis
  • Partner with Product Management, Product Development Marketing, and Finance to provide analytical input to decisions and evaluation of Business Checking Account (BCA) feature performance and campaign effectiveness
  • Leverage customer usage data to drive in-depth understanding of how customers engage with product features, identify areas of product friction, improve customer experience and increase engagement with banking products/features
  • Leverage advanced analytical techniques including clustering, machine learning, and statistical analysis to analyze card transactor customer engagement, usage, and retention
  • Identify and build behavior-based segmentation to provide insights into customer behavior and drive recommendations for business priorities
  • Evaluate and integrate new data sources by performing data profiling and validation, and design structured, scalable datasets to support reliable reporting, analytics, and business decision-making
  • Effectively prioritize demands for data, ad hoc analytics, and reporting from multiple stakeholders, shifting focus as necessary to ensure alignment with business priorities
  • Design and implement scalable dashboards and data tools in Tableau to enable business users to access product data in a self-service fashion
