About The Position

The Senior Manager of Revenue Cycle serves as the strategic leader responsible for optimizing and growing organizational revenue across all clinical and ancillary service lines. Reporting to the CFO, this role provides enterprise-wide oversight of revenue cycle operations while driving financial performance through payor contract evaluation, reimbursement optimization, denial reduction strategies, and ancillary revenue development. This position proactively identifies revenue opportunities, analyzes contract profitability and reimbursement models, and influences strategic decisions that impact both clinical and ancillary revenue streams. Working closely with executive and physician leadership, the Senior Manager ensures financial sustainability, margin growth, and strong market positioning in a complex reimbursement environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field required.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare revenue cycle.
  • Demonstrated success in payor contract analysis and revenue optimization.
  • Proven experience leading managers and driving transformational change.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive revenue optimization strategy aligned with organizational financial goals.
  • Evaluate and analyze commercial and governmental payor contracts to ensure profitability, identify underperformance, and support renegotiation strategy.
  • Partner with the CFO on financial modeling, contract negotiations, and long-term reimbursement strategy.
  • Lead analysis of reimbursement performance by service line, provider, and payor to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Identify and implement strategies to grow clinical and ancillary revenue streams, including imaging, DME, physical therapy, bundled services, and direct-to-employer programs.
  • Assess bundled payment and alternative payment models for financial viability and strategic positioning.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to strengthen charge capture, documentation integrity, and reimbursement optimization.
  • Oversee all revenue cycle functions, including provider enrollment, coding and charge capture, claims management, denial management, AR performance, credit balance resolution, and self-pay strategy.
  • Ensure accurate payor table configuration, reimbursement setup, and effective EMR utilization.
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative changes impacting reimbursement and proactively adjust strategy.
  • Establish measurable revenue growth targets and key performance indicators, benchmark performance against industry standards.
  • Identify systemic revenue leakage and implement corrective action plans to improve margin performance.
  • Develop executive dashboards, financial reports, and board-ready presentations that translate operational metrics into strategic insight.
  • Conduct ROI analyses for ancillary program expansion and operational investments.
  • Lead, mentor, and elevate managers to strengthen accountability, strategic thinking, and leadership depth.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies across the revenue cycle.
  • Lead change management efforts that enhance financial outcomes and organizational performance.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CFO, executive leadership, and physician leaders to ensure long-term financial sustainability and growth.
