The journey begins here - with Global- a 1st Flagship Company , we are currently looking for a Safety Health Environment Manager . What You'll Be Doing: Assigns, directs, and oversees work of supervised employees to ensure quality, productivity, and safety compliance. Trains employees in safe work practices, proper methods, and use of tools and equipment. Enforces safety, environmental, fire, housekeeping, performance, and behavioral standards in accordance with company policies. Conducts routine and annual safety and environmental inspections of vessels, facilities, waterfront areas, confined spaces, and work operations. Performs atmospheric testing, heat stress monitoring, noise surveys, and hazard assessments as required. Overseas hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling, storage, pre-designation, and disposal, including operation of the Hazardous Waste Accumulation Area. Identifies, documents, investigates, and reports accidents, hazards, and safety discrepancies. Maintains required records including labor hours, work progress, safety inspections, and incident reports. Assists employees with complex or hazardous operations as needed. Requisitions tools, materials, equipment, and coordinates support from other trades when required. Provides input on work planning, staffing, cost control, and schedule adherence. Completes employee performance evaluations, provides feedback, and recommends disciplinary or commendatory actions. Recommend improvements to work methods, plans, and resource utilization. Requisition necessary tools, material, and equipment and arranges for assistance of other trades when required.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Three (3) years of supervisor experience running an EH&S crew.
  • Three (3) years of relevant ship maintenance experience OR relevant experience in the military.
  • Must have the following qualifications/certifications or complete all qualifications/certifications as agreed to in the terms of the Offer Letter.
  • Must have a current driver's license and meet the requirements of the company's Vehicle Safety manual.
  • Shipyard Competent Person (gas-free) certification
  • Qualified as a Fire Watch
  • AHERA Building Inspector Certification & PA Asbestos Supervisor Contractor
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
  • Qualified forklift operator
  • Medically qualified and able to wear a negative pressure respirator.
  • Radiac Montor Surveyor

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Previous Navy, Coast Guard or Inactive Ship experience.
  • Qualified Boat Operator
  • Successfully completed Rigger Practices Course
  • RADCON qualified
  • Experience with OSHA, EPA and DOE Regulations
  • Certified Asbestos Supervisor
