About The Position

The Shipping Coordinator communicates with logistic companies and schedules transport for outgoing shipments, and acts as the point of contact for incoming/outgoing truck drivers.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
2 years’ experience in Logistics or related field
Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to analyze and probe in order to determine root cause of issues; utilize solid decision-making skills to determine viable solutions.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, with proficiency in Excel.
Ability to learn and adapt to various operating systems and software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

Process documents for new shipments, including bills of lading, warehouse releases, and order acknowledgments.
Obtain freight quotes from multiple carriers.
Schedule and confirm outgoing shipments for non-customer pickups.
Schedule and confirm appointments for outbound and inbound orders.
Ensure accuracy of paperwork such as bills of lading, warehouse releases, and order acknowledgments, custom documents (commercial invoices, VGMs, etc).
Enter order shipment confirmations into computer using software such as JD Edwards and DSI.
Inform Customer Service timely regarding inventory stock for potential orders.
Maintain accurate files of shipping records.
Prepare and provide ad hoc reports to Management and Customer Service.
Perform additional duties as required.
