About The Position

At Tanium, our Solution Engineering Interns have the opportunity to learn valuable, real-world experience from the world’s leading customer success organization--responsible for helping the largest organizations on the planet achieve unprecedented visibility and control over the most complex environments in the world. Operating in a highly collaborative team environment, interns will work closely with an assigned 1:1 mentor and other interns on a summer project contributing to our team’s success. A Solution Engineering intern can look forward to translating their technical skills to support interactive pre-sales discovery meetings, to help analyze customer and prospects’ current technology and architecture as well as operational and business needs and to develop and present Tanium solutions where appropriate. This position follows the Company’s hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the Addison, TX office a minimum of three days per week. The hourly rate for this internship is $27 per hour. This hourly rate is an estimate for what Tanium will pay an intern. The actual rate offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, skills, training, and experience. In addition to an hourly rate, interns will be eligible for a housing stipend, 401k matching, and a monthly allowance for communications reimbursement.

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future
  • Available to work full-time from June 8, 2026 to August 14, 2026
  • Currently enrolled Bachelor's degree candidate in computer science, mathematics, engineering or similar field; ideally with a 3.5+ GPA
  • Graduating Spring 2027 or Fall 2026
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of endpoint technology
  • Able to demonstrate critical thinking skills
  • Skilled at written and verbal communication
  • Naturally team-oriented with a mission-first attitude
  • Excited to learn new technology and engage with Tanium customers and prospects
  • Experienced at an entry level in one or more of the following: Endpoint Security, IT Operations Management and/or Regulatory Compliance

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of scripting languages is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with our world-class sales team from initial discovery to deal close to shorten sales cycles and improve closing rates
  • Supports initial discovery meetings with customers, working with senior team members to provide platform demos and for both existing customers and new sales opportunities
  • Help to translate customer business challenges into technical solutions, positioning Tanium to effectively solve those challenges
  • Partner with senior team members to serve as a technical expert throughout sales engagements, ensuring that tactical motions in the pre-sales and POV processes line up with strategic account goals
  • Help to address our customers’ needs through astute verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Work with senior team members to build, manage and maintain strong relationships with customers, peers and partners
  • Undergo detailed training in the Tanium platform with the opportunity to become Tanium certified
  • Collaborate with your mentor and other interns
  • Own a project designed to support our Solution Engineering efficiency and effectiveness
  • Demo Tanium to potential customers
  • Train in top-quality customer-facing sales and presentation skills
  • Shadow our full-time Solution Engineers in their day-to-day operations
