Location: This position is onsite at Ludington Pump Storage located in Ludington, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify). General Summary of Job Responsibilities The Senior Lab Technical Analyst performs highly complex, analytical technical work. Leads technical projects or programs, responsible for not only the technical aspects of the projects but also quoting, customer interface, and logistical planning. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and international codes related to the testing and analysis being performed. Leads evaluations of new examination methods and technologies and works with internal and external stakeholders for process validation and approval. Uses high-level technical knowledge, experience, and judgment to make decisions outside the scope of standard acceptance criteria. Laboratory Services is the single point of contact for providing technical expertise in the areas of calibration, chemistry, nondestructive and materials testing, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance testing. Our Laboratory uses modern technology and serves a diverse clientele in a wide variety of fields. We perform both laboratory and field work and offer pickup and delivery of equipment of any samples that require special handling.

Requirements

Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
Working knowledge of quality assurance and quality control skills; including but not limited to problem solving, waste elimination, design/specification development, and audit facilitation.
Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Scientific field with 4 years of relevant experience [OR] Associate's Degree in a Technical or Scientific field with 6 years of relevant experience [OR] High School Diploma with 8 years of relevant experience
Certifications/Licensures:(Certifications will vary based on the specific department, however the Career level will not be attained without several certifications identified within each specific department.

Responsibilities

Performing complex analytical and/or quantitative and qualitative testing in accordance with industry accepted codes, specifications, and standards.
Taking ownership of their value stream while providing guidance and direction to other team members and applying CE Way (Lean) concepts in order to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control the processes directly related to their particular area of focus.
Oversee complex projects with minimal supervision and depending on the project needs, they may take on a leadership type role, providing oversight to a project team.
Responsible for the implementation of Project Quality Management Plans and Inspection Plans; responsible for developing and directing all quality audits, surveillance, and assessment activities.
Ensuring all individuals are qualified to their appropriate job duties, supporting the process of all project documentation turnovers, and evaluating vendors and suppliers in accordance with Project Quality Plans and all applicable engineering, project specifications and codes.
High Complexity equipment and test method evaluation and validation
Execute standard examination procedures
In-depth understanding of industry codes and requirements in order to develop examination procedures and methods.
Lead, plan and set up long-term technical test plans including examination protocols, logistics, communication, execution of test plan, all necessary QA/QC, and report submittals.
Lead long-term projects and programs, maintaining responsibility for all customer facing aspects of the project.
