About The Position

As a Senior Manager, Business Intelligence and Digital Analytics on the Digital Strategy & Analytics team, you will play a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the Macy’s Digital organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Analytics, you will design and build scalable dashboards and data tools that serve a wide range of stakeholders from C-suite executives to business analysts. You’ll partner closely with BI engineers to advise on data architecture and table design, manage data libraries, and help define new business metrics and measurement methodologies. Additionally, you’ll lead the evaluation and procurement of SaaS analytics solutions, ensuring the tools you recommend enhance business insight and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Dashboard Development & Data Visualization: Proficiency in building intuitive, scalable dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Adobe Analytics, and Excel, tailored to both executive and analytical audiences.
  • Metric Design & Measurement Strategy: Experience developing new business metrics, defining measurement methodologies, and integrating them into reporting workflows.
  • SQL & Data Querying: Strong command of SQL for querying, transforming, and validating data across multiple sources and environments.
  • Python for Data Analysis: Experience using Python for data manipulation, automation, and advanced analytics tasks, including metric development and tool integration.
  • Data Architecture & Modeling: Solid understanding of data structures, table design, and architecture principles. Ability to collaborate with BI engineers to ensure scalable and efficient data pipelines.
  • Tool Evaluation & Procurement Collaboration: Ability to assess, and test SaaS tools in partnership with procurement and technical teams.
  • Business Acumen & Communication: Ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. Skilled in presenting findings and training users on tools and metrics.
  • Curiosity & Continuous Improvement: A proactive mindset with a passion for improving data accessibility, usability, and impact across the organization.
  • 5 years of experience analyzing data and building comprehensive dashboards in an enterprise setting.
  • Passionate about building scalable, user-centric solutions that empower teams—from executives to analysts—to make smarter, faster decisions.
  • Comfortable navigating both the technical and business sides of analytics, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • A strong communicator and collaborator who enjoys working cross-functionally with engineers, product managers, procurement teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Curious and proactive, always seeking out new tools, technologies, and methods to improve data accessibility and decision-making.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the tools and metrics you build.
  • Experienced in tools like Tableau, Power BI, SQL, and Python, and excited to explore emerging technologies like AI agents and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel.
  • Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Flexibility in working hours based on department and company needs is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Build Dashboards: Develop scalable, user-friendly dashboards that serve a wide range of stakeholders - from C-suite executives to business analysts - enabling clear visibility into performance and insights.
  • Evaluate and Implement SaaS Tools: Identify, assess, and support the procurement of third-party analytics and AI tools to enhance internal capabilities. Collaborate with procurement and technical teams to test and advise on tool selection.
  • Advise on Data Architecture: Partner with BI engineers to recommend data table structures, pipelines, and architecture that support robust reporting and analytics use cases and to ensure consistency, accuracy, and accessibility of key business metrics and definitions.
  • Define and Operationalize Business Metrics: Work with cross-functional teams to develop new business metrics, determine how they should be measured, and ensure they are integrated into reporting tools and workflows.
  • Enable Data Literacy: Train business users on new tools, dashboards, and metrics to ensure adoption and effective usage across the organization.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Serve as a bridge between analytics, engineering, product, and business teams to ensure data solutions meet strategic needs and drive actionable insights.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
