Join Our Team as a Stakeholder Business Partner! The Stakeholder Relations Team As the primary liaison between SPP and external stakeholders, the Stakeholder Relations Team is dedicated to fostering and nurturing mutually beneficial relationships that support SPP’s essential functions. This department excels in facilitation, coordination, organization, issue resolution, and planning while proactively managing customer and stakeholder relationships. Through targeted communication and collaboration with customers, market participants, and other stakeholders, the team helps ensure strong engagement and alignment with SPP initiatives. Job Overview The Stakeholder Business Partner (Account Manager) serves as a primary relationship manager for a portfolio of Southwest Power Pool (SPP) stakeholders, including Integrated Marketplace and Market participants, transmission customers, transmission owners, meter agents, members, and other key partners. This role focuses on building strong relationships across assigned stakeholder accounts, gaining a deep understanding of evolving business needs, and supporting alignment with SPP initiatives, programs, and priorities. Working closely with internal teams and subject matter experts, the Stakeholder Business Partner (Account Manager) helps coordinate solutions, facilitate effective communication, and support initiatives that enhance stakeholder engagement and satisfaction. This role represents stakeholder perspectives across enterprise initiatives and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure stakeholder needs are incorporated into planning, projects, and decision-making. The position operates in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and requires strong relationship management, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to develop a broad understanding of SPP operations and the electric utility industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related field; or two (2) years of job related work experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement
  • Stakeholder Business Partner II: Three (3) years of experience in stakeholder relations, customer service, account management, communications, public affairs, regulatory support, or a related field.
  • Stakeholder Business Partner I: No experience required beyond education requirements
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to analyze issues, identify trends, and support resolution of stakeholder concerns
  • Ability to coordinate work across teams and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems or databases

  • Experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with assigned stakeholder organizations to understand evolving business needs and support alignment with SPP initiatives and priorities.
  • Represent stakeholder perspectives internally to inform planning, projects, and organizational decision-making.
  • Partner with internal teams and subject matter experts to incorporate stakeholder needs into the development and implementation of initiatives, programs, and services.
  • Promote productive engagement between stakeholders and SPP by fostering collaboration, transparency, and effective communication.
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies that increase stakeholder awareness, participation, and engagement across stakeholder groups.
  • Deliver stakeholder feedback and insights to internal teams to improve stakeholder outcomes and the effectiveness of SPP initiatives.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities from stakeholder feedback and recommend improvements to engagement strategies and internal processes.
  • Complete and document assigned SOC 1 control activities in accordance with departmental standards and established requirements.
  • Perform work in compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
