About The Position

As a Streets Technician I, II, or III , you will support the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, drainage systems, rights‑of‑way, and trails. You will also participate in snow and ice control and operate a range of light to heavy equipment. This role makes a visible difference in the safety, functionality, and appearance of Greenwood Village infrastructure. The Streets Technician series is flexibly staffed with three levels: Technician I – Entry-level; training class with limited prior experience required Technician II – Requires CDL‑B, flagger certification, forklift certification, and snowplow experience Technician III – Full journey-level; requires CDL‑A or B, Road Scholar I, and at least two years of street maintenance experience

Requirements

  • Technician I Requirements: Knowledge of basic maintenance tools and equipment preferred
  • Ability to learn street maintenance operations and safety practices
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in adverse weather
  • Clear communication and ability to follow written/oral instructions
  • Technician II (includes all above plus): Proficiency in street and drainage maintenance techniques
  • Ability to operate a wide range of equipment safely
  • Knowledge of hazards in high‑traffic areas
  • Technician III (includes all above plus): Ability to work independently and use sound judgment
  • Ability to coordinate operations for safety and efficiency
  • Ability to recognize hazards and lead seasonal staff
  • Technician I: High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of street/drainage maintenance experience preferred
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license (or ability to obtain) with acceptable driving record
  • Technician II: Meets Technician I requirements
  • CDL‑B required (CDL‑A preferred)
  • Valid Flagger Certification and Forklift Certification
  • 10 snowplow events using single or tandem axle trucks
  • Technician III: Meets Technician I/II requirements
  • Minimum two years of street maintenance experience
  • Completion of Road Scholar I coursework
  • Demonstrated proficiency in light and heavy equipment operations

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of basic maintenance tools and equipment preferred
  • One year of street/drainage maintenance experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Street Maintenance Set up cones, signs, and flagging to maintain safe traffic flow
  • Operate light and heavy equipment used in street maintenance
  • Perform crack sealing, pothole patching, and surface repairs
  • Install culverts, perform concrete work, and utilize cutting saws
  • Maintain and operate paint striping and vinyl application equipment
  • Operate milling machines and street sweepers
  • Repair and fabricate traffic signs and bollards
  • Snow and Ice Control Install plows, sanders, and related attachments
  • Operate snowplows, sanders, and loaders
  • Remove snow from streets and walkways using trucks, blowers, or shovels
  • Miscellaneous Duties Assist with special events, annual cleanup programs, and construction projects
  • Perform minor vehicle/equipment maintenance
  • Maintain shop spaces and tools; manage and replenish supplies
  • Perform related duties as required
