Student Assistant – Design Studio
About The Position
Position Summary Reporting to the Studio Manager of the School of Design, Arts, and Communication ( SODAC ), the Student Assistant works collaboratively with a diverse team of student workers to develop a welcoming and supportive community within the SODAC . The Student Assistant in the SODAC provides service to students, faculty and staff through equipment assistance and product troubleshooting as well as offers adequate support in the operation and maintenance of the facilities. This position will work directly with the Studio Manager as well as full time and adjunct faculty in the SODAC .
Responsibilities
- Assist students, faculty, and staff with Garrity Design Studio equipment
- Maintain equipment within the Garrity Design Studio space
- Troubleshoot technical or physical issues with equipment
- Demonstrate proper use of equipment to students
- Complete graphic design related projects for the SODAC Dean’s Office
- Maintain clean and orderly workspace in the Garrity Design Studio
- Check equipment for proper working order, report damaged equipment or low supply to Studio Manager
