Reporting to the Assistant Director of Community Standards, this position supports the UNH campus in efforts to promote, enforce, and administer the Student Code of Conduct and foster a safe campus community. The Student Conduct Coordinator has key responsibilities within the Office of Community Standards (OCS) which includes managing conduct cases and administering hearings; collaborating with campus stakeholders in supporting the resolution of conduct matters and serving as a point of contact for students going through a resolution process within the Office of Community Standards (OCS). The Student Conduct Coordinator supports other operational responsibilities within Community Standards as deemed appropriate by the Assistant Director. This includes: (1) educating the community about the Code of Conduct; (2) assisting with recruitment and training of conduct officers; (3) communicating with students and families as appropriate; (4) supporting training and development for campus stakeholders related to UNH's conduct procedures; and (5) contributing to the implementation of various OCS assessment initiatives. Duties/Responsibilities Resolution Processes (40%) Administer student conduct cases from referral through resolution in alignment with the Student Code of Conduct. Serve as a Hearing Officer for individual administrative hearings, determining responsibility and issuing appropriate sanctions. Serve in other capacities for formal resolution processes including serving as a procedural advisor, ensuring fair process and consistent application of policies and procedures. Provide guidance and support to other designated conduct officers as appropriate including identifying issues and trends in resolving policy violations and interpersonal conflicts within offices outside of OCS charged with resolving policy violations. Collaborate with campus partners in other Student Life offices to ensure coordinated case resolution. Communicate with outside agencies as appropriate when off-campus incidents involve referrals to the University’s conduct process. Facilitate alternative resolution approaches when appropriate, such as informal conversations and conflict coaching to help students address concerns outside of the formal conduct process. Facilitate organizational misconduct resolution processes or investigations as designated by the Assistant Director. Maintain accurate and timely case records in the student conduct database, consistent with institutional policies and federal regulations (e.g., FERPA). Education and Training (15%) Educate students about the Student Code of Conduct and University policies during individual meetings and through the assignment of educational sanctions. Assist with the planning and delivery of training for employees who serve as conduct officers, advisors, or otherwise assist with resolution processes. Support office-led presentations and workshops for the community to promote awareness of conduct policies and procedures. Review and update the website and other training materials for accuracy and accessibility. Provide clear and accessible information to students and families about the conduct process to encourage understanding and engagement. Assessment (15%) Contribute to assessment initiatives by collecting and maintaining data related to student conduct cases, sanctions, and outcomes. Ensure accuracy of data within the institution’s case management system. Assist with the preparation of regular reports that highlight student conduct trends and outcomes for use by Community Standards and campus partners. Participate in discussions about continuous improvement by sharing observations and contributing feedback on processes and procedures. Compliance (15%) Maintain accurate and timely case records in the student conduct database to ensure consistency and compliance with institutional policies. Assist in fulfilling federal and state reporting obligations, including FERPA, Title IX, the Clery Act, the Stop Campus Hazing Act, and the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act. Follow established protocols to protect student privacy and confidentiality. Support the Assistant Director and Director in ensuring that office practices meet compliance requirements. Policy and Procedure Support (15%) Assist in the annual review and update of the Student Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Support the Assistant Director and Director in updating training materials, procedural documents, and office resources. Contribute feedback to improve clarity, consistency, and accessibility of policies for students and campus partners. Help prepare office reports and documentation of activities for internal and external use.
