Breakthrough Montessori Public Charter School was founded in early 2016 in Washington, DC and currently serves 388 students from Pre-K 3 through grade 6. Breakthrough Montessori PCS is a coaching school; all team members receive and give coaching to support professional growth. Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Student Support, the Student Support Coordinator serves as a member of the school’s administrative team and supports the development and implementation of systems that ensure all students receive the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports needed to thrive. The Coordinator promotes the school’s anti-racist, anti-bias goals by helping ensure equitable access to learning and support services for all students. The Student Support Coordinator collaborates with classroom teams, specialists, and school leadership to support the implementation of the school’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), monitor student progress, and coordinate student support processes. The Coordinator also assists with the implementation of services for students with EL, Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Section 504 plans, ensuring practices align with federal, state, and District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) requirements.
