Our Gridtern Program provides current college students the ability to gain practical experience within the energy industry. Your summer will begin on Monday, June 15, 2026, and will be filled with meaningful work experiences, professional development, networking opportunities, community involvement, and most importantly, have fun! Our Electric Operations Services (EOS) team is dedicated to delivering a positive customer experience and empowering all our New England Electric employees. The team manages critical customer connection projects, supports digital work execution, drives process improvements, and leads change management efforts - all while fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and productivity. This specific role will support the team in areas related to Projects, Operations, and Processes. As a Gridtern supporting the Projects, Operations, and Process track, you will collaborate with colleagues across Electric Operations to better understand team structures, priorities, and cross-functional workflows. You will support EOS initiatives related to process improvements, digital work execution, and maintaining and enhancing the EOS SharePoint site. Additionally, you will explore emerging technology opportunities, including AI and machine learning, to improve team processes. You will be based in Worcester, MA working in a Hybrid format for the summer. You must reside within a commutable distance to the designated work location during this period.

Requirements

  • Availability to start on the program start date, June 15, 2026, and work full-time (40 hours a week) for the duration of the summer
  • Must be registered as a full-time student and continue your education full-time through the Fall 2026 semester
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Computer Science, Technology, Change Management, Project / Product Management or related majors
  • Have accumulated 18 or more credits and be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (including CPT & OPT)
  • Valid US Driver’s license with a safe driving history that complies with National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.
